ecommbi started in the midst of the 2008 GFC when we saw an opportunity to bring packaged enterprise ecommerce solutions to the NZ market, after one of the founders returned from the UK after 14 years of implementing ecommerce solutions.

We became New Zealands first hybris partner (acquired by SAP in 2013) and this set the scene for our roadmap. Over the years we have built strong global partnerships and clients and expanded our technology offering, whilst remaining as specialists in the ecommerce space.

The world is now experiencing the 4th generation of ecommerce, and this new generation is set to make the largest impact to date. The 4th generation consists of composable commerce, on a MACH based architecture – and its exploding around the world!

The MACH (Microservices, API First, Cloud Native, Headless) architecture is set to completely disrupt the global market, and its starting in the commerce space first, but we believe it won’t stop there. The approach to a successful complex B2C or B2B ecommerce project, has completely changed – and 2024 is seeing some new players emerge who will change the landscape.
We are also seeing a massive shift to an underlying Process Orchestration layer.

Its hugely important to know that this is not a ‘rip out and replace’ approach – these new technologies sit alongside your current implementations and allow for a new way to implement those new brands, or those difficult or costly features… at a much more cost effective rate.
